Paulinella Details: NCBI 39716, gram-negative or unknown [genus]
Hantavirus: Some species of rodents within the Murinae subfamily are reservoirs for hantaviruses, which can cause hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS) or hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) in humans. These diseases are typically transmitted through contact with rodent urine, droppings, or saliva.
Leptospirosis: Rodents, including some Murinae species, can carry and transmit the bacteria Leptospira, which can cause leptospirosis in humans. This bacterial infection is usually spread through contact with water, soil, or food contaminated with rodent urine.
Rat-bite fever: This infectious disease can be transmitted to humans through bites or scratches from infected rodents, including some Murinae species. It can also be transmitted through contact with contaminated food or water.
Salmonellosis: Rodents, including mice and rats, can carry Salmonella bacteria and spread them to humans through contaminated food, water, or surfaces.
Plague: While less common in modern times, some species of rodents, including certain Murinae species, can carry Yersinia pestis, the bacterium that causes plague. Plague can be transmitted to humans through flea bites or contact with infected animals or their body fluids.
Different labs use different software to read the sample. See this post for more details.
One lab may say you have none, another may say you have a lot! - This may be solely due to the software they are using to estimate.
We deem lab specific values using values from the KM method for each specific lab to be the most reliable.
Desired Levels Suggestions for Paulinella
Frequency - how often do samples show this bacteria
UD - An alternative statistical algorithm (which factors in the frequency)
Kaltoft-Moldrup Heuristic Using uploaded data
Lab Low and High are calculated using the formula that most labs use: Mean - 2 Standard Deviation to Mean + 2 Standard Deviation
These are values that are computed from lab specific samples (Patent Pending)
