FCB group Details: NCBI 1783270, gram-negative or unknown [clade]
| FCB group| Fibrobacter/Acidobacteria group| Fibrobacteres-Chlorobi-Bacteroidetes superphylum| Fibrobacteres/Acidobacteria group
Bacteroidetes:
Bacteroidetes are a major group of bacteria in the human gut microbiota. They are known for their role in fermenting complex carbohydrates and producing short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), which contribute to gut health.
Certain Bacteroidetes species are associated with a healthy gut microbiota, and their abundance is often considered beneficial for overall digestive function.
Fibrobacteres:
Fibrobacteres are less studied compared to some other bacterial phyla, but they are found in various environments, including the digestive tracts of animals. Fibrobacteres in the rumen of herbivores, for example, play a role in breaking down plant cell walls through cellulose degradation.
The health impacts of Fibrobacteres in the human gut microbiota specifically are not as well understood, and more research is needed to elucidate their functions and potential contributions to health.
Chlorobi:
Chlorobi bacteria are primarily photosynthetic and are often found in aquatic environments. They are not typically major components of the human gut microbiota.
While Chlorobi may not play a direct role in human health, they contribute to ecological processes in their native environments.
Different labs use different software to read the sample. See this post for more details.
One lab may say you have none, another may say you have a lot! - This may be solely due to the software they are using to estimate.
We deem lab specific values using values from the KM method for each specific lab to be the most reliable.
Desired Levels Suggestions for FCB group
Frequency - how often do samples show this bacteria
UD - An alternative statistical algorithm (which factors in the frequency)
Kaltoft-Moldrup Heuristic Using uploaded data
Lab Low and High are calculated using the formula that most labs use: Mean - 2 Standard Deviation to Mean + 2 Standard Deviation
These are values that are computed from lab specific samples (Patent Pending)
